Madison County Fair Queen Contest
The Madison County Fair Queen Contest is hosted by Madison County Farm Bureau. It is open to young ladies between the ages of 16 and 21 who are active in Madison County. Applications are due to the Madison County Farm Bureau Office in Winterset by Friday, July 1, and questions can be directed to Jodie at (515)462-2661.

The Madison County Fair King Contest will be held again in 2011! Males between the ages of 16 and 19 who are active in Madison County are eligible to compete. Demolition Derby

Bill Riley Talent Search
The Bill Riley Talent Search annually showcases the diverse abilities of Iowa's young people. This is a qualifying show in which winners will advance to the Iowa State Fair competition. Family Center's Rough Stock Rodeo
The International Professional Rodeo Association (IPRA) and the Williams & Long Rodeo Company are host hosting a two night rodeo event on July 21 and 22.

Antique Tractor Pull
The Madison County fairgrounds will be the location of a South West Iowa Antique Tractor Pull (SWIATP) on Saturday, July 23 at 10:00 am. Register before 9:00 am at the grandstands; members and non-members are eligible to compete with stock antique tractors 1959 or older. See the following links for divisions and rules. Questions? Open Class Bottle/Bucket Calf Show
The open class bottle calf show allows young children to learn the basics of animal care and feeding. It is a wonderful opportunity for children between the ages of 5 and 13 to begin their careers raising livestock, or just to have a fun time! 4-Wheeler Races
The Madison County 4-wheeler race is open to people of all ages. It is not a competitive event, strictly for fun! Bring your 4-wheeler to the east pit gate of the grandstands on Saturday, July 23 between 4:00 and 6:30 pm to register. The races will begin at 7:00. Questions? 4x4 Mud Run
The 4x4 Mud Run Farmer Class tests a driver's ability to speed through a course of mud and compete against other drivers for the best time. It is open to all drivers with a 4 wheel drive vehicle that fits the competition requirements. Horseshoe Pitching Events
Winterset Parks and Recreation has coordinated a few horseshoe pitching events for the fair. On Thursday, July 22, youth ages 10-18 can try their luck with at Pitch & Win competition. After that event, people of all ages can participate in the Pitch & Learn to learn how to throw horseshoes or just get some practice. If you're looking for some friendly competition, there will be a Horseshoe Pitching Business Team Challenge for teams of two who are tied to sponsors of the fair. Madison County Farm Bureau Cook-Out Contest
Think you can cook some great food? If so, the Farm Bureau Cook-Out Contest is for you! Make your best dishes and compete against others on Sunday, July 24 to be known as the best cook in Madison County, then represent the county at the state competition during the Iowa State Fair. Stop by the Madison County Farm Bureau office, call Jodie at (515)462-2661, or e-mail madison.county@ifbf.org if you would like to learn more.
Vendors
There is space available at the Madison County Fair for vendors who would like to promote their products. It is a great opportunity to reach a lot of people for a very low price. Please see the link below for prices and information.
Note: Food vendors are limited to Madison County non-profit and require approval by the Madison County Fair Board.
